- This mod adds "less generic" responses to the NPCs of Seyda Neen. Its residents almost all now have unique and individual stories to tell, as well as their own view on all the standard topics. And there's a young Dunmer girl who can use your help. Or not. It's up to you.
- If you haven't played LGNPC Seyda Neen before, then installation is just standard mod installation - i.e. copy the esp to your Data Files directory and add it to your load list.
- If you currently have LGNPC installed, then you most likely will be able to safely switch to this new version. Simply replace the original esp with the new esp. If you have Wrye Mash, then it is advised that you run Mash's "Repair Refs" function after you've installed the esp. (The original version touched a number of Morrowind.esm's references, while this new version does not. Running Repair Refs will clean up these changes in your save game.)
- If you've already completed LGNPC and just want the improved dialog, then this new version should be compatible with old version quest journals.
- If you've already played or are in the middle of the Bal Molagmer "forged land deed" quest, then you should note that the target of that quest has been moved from Indrele Rathryon in Seyda Neen, to Nilera Ieneth, who runs a small farm due north of Vivec's silt strider port. Even if you've already played that quest, you might like to go back and talk to Nilera and her neighbors, as they now have some less generic dialog.
- For thematic reasons, this mod peforms a sex change on Darvame Hleran, the silt strider operator in Balmora.
- To avoid problems, other mods should avoid replacing Darvame's face, putting him/her in a dress, etc.
- If you use TesTool's object merging function and you end up with a sweet faced guy in a dress, well... TesTool warned you of such dangers, didn't it?
- No change. New version number is only to mark release under "WML 1.0 Modify and Redistribute, Share Alike" license and note Joe's blessing of the work.
- Bugfixes
- Fixed a bug that broke the Processus quest.
- Fixed several text errors. (Thanks Elanor!)
- Mechanical
- All refs have been removed since they were not necessary. None of these were new refs rather they were inadvertent touches of master refs.
- Earlier nolore'ing of NPCs has been removed. Dialog entries have been consolidated and moved to the top.
- The forged land deed Bal Molagmer quest has been moved from Indrele to a different NPC since it wasn't really consistent with Indrele's story.
- Text
- Almost all text has been substantially rewritten for spelling, grammar, paragraph flow, character consistency, ease of reading and variety.
- Some of the characterizations have been changed slightly. Erene is now a bit gruffer, Indrele is a bit more explicitly adventurous. Also, I've done a bit of setup to make Processus a bit more ambiguous. Subtle, but I have the time to do Thavere, that will become more apparent.
- Character and backgrounds have been more greatly fleshed out. Almost everyone how has a bit more to say about themselves, and has much less tendency to "fold" their topics together. I.e., specific place and someone in particular will now rarely tell you the same things.
- A few new cross mod story connections have been added. Tandram now has some shared history from Talmeni Drethan (the Shipmaster in LGNPC Khuul), and Tandram has a ghost story related to Ivza's excellent Amulet of Scrye mod.
- Then NPC who is the new target of the Bal Molagmer "forged land deed" quest has now been fleshed out a bit. Even if you've completed that quest, you might want to visit her (Nilera Ieneth who runs a farm north of Vivec's silt strider port).
- Tolvise Othralen, Erene Llenim, Fine Mouth and Foryn Gilnith have been given less generic dialog.
- Several of the existing LGNPCs have been given some new dialog.
- A rumor mill is starting to grind away in the town, now some LGNPCs will give you an opinion on other LGNPCs.
- The dialog error involving the taxman quest and a certain lady in town has been fixed. My apologies for breaking that important little clue, but I believe I have now wrestled the dialog editor into submission on that one.
- As usual minor bugs, such as dialog not appearing where I wanted it, spelling errors, etc. have been stamped out. If you do find any errors please let me know.
- Dialog cleaned up so most dialog will not be copied to the topics section of the journal. As more LGNPCs got added the topics section would have become enormous.
- Formatting changes and some errors that caused the right dialog not to be displayed fixed.
- More dialog and a few more goodbyes added to existing LGNPCs.
- Indrele Rathryon, Tandram Andalen and Draren Thiralas given less generic dialog. A social quest added between two townspeople and other of the already modified townspeople will comment on it.
- Darvame Hleran, Teleri Helvi, Eldafire and Teruise Girvayne given less generic dialogs.

- Joe Stevens is the originator of the LGNPC (Less Generic NPC) Project, and the sole writer of the original version (up to v0.20) of LGNPC Seyda Neen. Joe has blessed this extension of LGNPC Seyda Neen and in particular has come out in support of the Cathedral view of modding.
- After Joe left, the LGNPC project was resurrected by Dark Master, Max a.k.a. NOBODY, a number other talented writers. This team has extended LGNPC to: Hla Oad, Ald Velothi, Khuul, Maar Gan, Ald'ruhn, and Pelagiad, with more towns on the way. If you're interested in contributing to the project, please check the LGNPC Website.
- The current version of LGNPC Seyda Neen is a substantial rewrite of Joe Steven's original version. Almost all of the original flow and characterization is retained, however a number of technical fixes were applied and almost all dialog has been rewritten to some degree to remove the 'first draft' quality of the original and bring into line with current LGNPC quality levels. Any comments or/questions about it should be directed to Wrye and/or the release thread link at the top of this document.
